As an alternative to palliative medicine tele-advice, providers in the Calgary Zone can submit an eReferral Advice Request for palliative medicine issues, and will receive a response back from a specialist within five calendar days.

How to request Palliative Care tele-advice

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding statutory holidays.

Please enter the Physician's Name and PracID, along with the Patient's PHN and Physician's Direct/Private Phone Number (without dashes or hyphens).

  • Palliative care consultant advice and support is available to family physicians who have patients with complex symptoms or needs that include the following:

  • • Nausea
  • • Constipation
  • • Delirium
  • • Opioid toxicity
  • • Dyspnea
  • • Depression, anxiety, grief, psychological or spiritual distress
  • • Clarification of treatment goals and management plans
